How Much for an 8-Person Hot Tub?

Let’s get to it: How much is an 8-person hot tub, really? In general, an 8-person hot tub will cost anywhere from $13,500 to $30,000 in Canada (about $10,000 to well over $25,000 USD) depending on elements such as features, materials, energy efficiency, overall quality and brand.

Entry-level models are more affordable but have fewer features, while high-end models offer unique elements such as premium jet systems, insulation or advanced maintenance and cleaning.

A couple of quick things to think about:

  • This is the top end of the price class for hot tubs. If you’re considering an eight-person hot tub, you’re looking for one with plenty of space for family and friends. It’s like buying a large SUV. You know once you’re into that class you’re not buying the cheapest product in the market. We’d also not recommend trying to skimp here. With the kind of usage a large hot tub like this is going to have, we’d suggest you make sure you get a good brand.
  • Small aside: If you are looking at an eight-seat hot tub, we’d also suggest you consider a smaller swim spa. Our smallest swim spa hold eight comfortably and starts at about $30,000 (for more on swim spas versus hot tubs, you can read this article: Hot Tubs vs Swim Spas).

At Hydropool, we’ve been designing and building hot tubs for over 45 years. “How much does it cost” is the question we have been asked most in that time. So we know dollars matter. We also know that many of our competitors hide prices or make it hard to find this information out. We don’t – our prices for our products are on each page, such as this Signature 779 hot tub.

That’s also why we’ve put together this comprehensive guide. We want to help you understand how pricing works, what features to expect, and which brands are worth a closer look.

In this article, we’ll cover:

  • What influences the cost of an 8-person hot tub?
  • What’s the average price range?
  • What features do you get at different price points?
  • What are some top-rated 8-person hot tubs from Hydropool and other brands?
  • What should you budget for delivery and installation?

What Factors Influence the Cost of an 8-Person Hot Tub?

Several factors contribute to the final price of an 8-person spa:

  • Size and Capacity: Larger tubs with deeper seating often require more materials and stronger support structures. This is why you don’t want to buy cheap in this size of hot tub. You want to make sure the hot tub is going to last.
  • Jet Count and Configuration: More jets and advanced hydrotherapy layouts increase costs. More jets require more pumps to operate them. At least two and usually three. So there’s more hardware under the cabinet here.
  • Materials and Build Quality: Acrylic shells and top-tier cabinetry add durability — and price. If you’ve got all that good stuff under there, it has to be protected, right?
  • Insulation and Energy Efficiency: Well-insulated models save money over time but often cost more upfront. This is often what you’re paying for when you buy premium.
  • Technology Features: LED lighting, waterfall features, touchscreen controls, and Wi-Fi connectivity raise the price. This isn’t unique to the size, but it’s all part of the package.
  • Brand and Warranty: Trusted brands often include robust warranties and better customer service, which can influence pricing.

What’s the Typical Price Range for an 8-Person Hot Tub?

Here’s what you can expect across different price tiers:

  • Entry-Level: $13,500–$18,000 CAD or $10,000–$13,000 USD
Basic hydrotherapy jets, simpler design, and limited tech features.
  • Mid-Range: $18,000–$23,000 CAD or $13,000–$17,000 USD
More jets, better insulation, LED lighting, and improved durability.
  • Premium: $23,000–$30,000+ CAD or $17,000–$22,000+ USD
Advanced massage systems (such as Hydropool’s Zone Therapy), luxury materials, energy efficiency, smart controls, and enhanced design.

What About Delivery and Installation Costs?

Don’t forget to budget for:

  • Delivery: $300–$600 depending on location and ease of access. Often this can be negotiated with a dealer, however.
  • Electrical Setup: Typically $1,000–$4,000 for wiring a 240V system.
  • Foundation/Base: $1500–$3,500  for a concrete pad or reinforced deck. These models are heavy due to their size so concrete pads are good ideas here.
  • Extras: Steps, covers, lifters, and accessories may add another $500–$1,000+

So, How Much for an 8-Person Hot Tub?

To sum it up:

  • Expect to spend $13,500–$30,000 Cdn or more depending on features, materials, and brand.
  • This is a category where you are better off buying at the higher end of the market rather than getting the least expensive hot tub out there. Tubs of this size must hold a lot of people and a lot of weight so they need to be well-built. They also come with more hardware to run all of the jets, and you don’t want that stuff breaking down either.
  • Top brands like Hydropool, Jacuzzi, Bullfrog, Caldera, and Artesian also offer excellent options — just be sure to compare features and warranties.
